Fast Facts about the Mission

Nairobi is home to one of the largest populations of children orphaned due to the HIV/AIDS epidemic.  Most of them experience extreme poverty in child-headed or adolescent-headed households.  Or they live with grannies, who have no means of supporting themselves or the children.

Education is the only way out of poverty, but unless they are well enough and able to attend school, that opportunity is lost.  In addition, many of these children have only one meal a day, which they receive at school.  Keeping them in school is critically important.

During the mission, the children will be screened and treated by pediatricians, advanced practice nurses, dentists and eye care professionals.  They will receive health education, including proper techniques for hand washing and tooth brushing, along with HIV/AIDS prevention information.

We invite Rotarians and non-Rotarians to join the mission team. Kenyan medical professionals and non-medical volunteers are working with us.

Please prayerfully consider joining us or making a contribution to assist our work with these kids.
